This steep gorge is the site of an early tinplate works. Now contains what is claimed to be the largest waterwheel in Europe generating electricity, together with a water turbine driving another generator. Owned by the National Trust.

Opening Times:
January to Mid-February, Saturday & Sunday, 11.00-16.00. Half-term and late February to October, daily, 11.00-16.00 (10.30 - 17.00 Mid March to early September). November to mid-December, Friday to Sunday, 11.00 – 16.00. (Last admission 30 mins before close). Also see web site for dates and opening times.
