A black post mill, built around 1750; it worked for nearly 150 years and was last the remaining mill to serve the Worthing area until it was closed in 1897. Restored to working order between 1976 and 1993, it now produces stoneground flour. Restored granary.

From Worthing take A27 west. Turn right at Salvington Lodge Hospital, to High Salvington. The mill is signposted half a mile uphill to right.

Opening Times:
April until September 15th, every first and third Sunday in the month, 2.30pm to 5 pm.
£1 entry charge, accompanied children free. Guided tours. Refreshments & toilets on site.

Standing 320ft (98m) above sea level with fine view souths over Worthing and the sea. The mill was built about 1750, though the first map showing a mill on this site was printed in 1724; it is known that a previous mill existed on this site in 1615.
The oak post on which the mill rotates is 21ft 6in (6.6m) high and doesn't actually touch the ground. The massive weight of the mill is carried by the diagonal quarter-bars and horizontal cross-trees of the trestle.
