SPAB Receives Culture Recovery Fund Award
Share on:
We are absolutely delighted to announce that the SPAB is one of the 476 heritage organisations who will share £44M from the Culture Recovery Fund.
We have been awarded £260,500, which will be instrumental in seeing us through the coming months, ensuring that we can continue to advocate for our precious built heritage and emerge from the pandemic stronger and ever more resilient. SPAB Director, Matthew Slocombe welcomes the news:
"The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings is delighted by the generous support provided by the Culture Recovery Fund. It shows DCMS's backing for heritage during an extremely challenging period. While some of our activities, such as a free public advice service supported by Historic England, have been able to continue, other public-facing, charitable work has been interrupted. We are a practical, hands-on organisation and many income-generating activities and have been impossible to carry out over the last year. The Culture Recovery Fund support will help us emerge from the crisis and develop the new forms of working and communication needed for a changed world" Matthew Slocombe, SPAB Director
