The SPAB believes in equality and abhors racism. Some historic monuments were put up to celebrate those whose lives involved profit from inequality or slavery. We understand that these monuments carry deep and painful associations.
We could not be more thrilled by the news that the SPAB's Old House project has been shortlisted for the Museum+Heritage Awards Restoration or Conservation Project of the Year.

We are absolutely delighted that the SPAB is one of the 476 heritage organisations who will share £44M from the the Culture Recovery Fund.
We strongly object to plans to substantially alter to the Grade II* listed Drakes Almshouses in Buckinghamshire. We are especially concerned about misguided proposals to address a damp problem, which we think are likely to cause further harm to these special 17th-century buildings.

We are delighted to announce our new SPAB Chair, Nichola Tasker. Nichola brings a wealth of organisational knowledge to the role with her experience as a Trustee and Guardian. Nichola is a conservation architect and SPAB Scholar (1998).
