This is a pre-recorded session which originally took place on 25 June 2020. It has a total runtime of 1 hour.
In this interactive session, member Frank de Caires introduces the principles of creating accurate technical drawings, including working out a scale, sketching and recording measurements, drawing the side, front, and plan views, and a brief look at drawing in 3D.
For this session you will need the following:
- A3 paper (you can sellotape 2 pieces of A4 together)
- Pencil / Pen
- 30/60 Degree Set Square (not essential but helpful)
- Ruler (300 mm) with measurements in mm (millimetres)

IT requirements: Please note that this is an online session and will be held via a webinar platform called CrowdCast. You will be sent instructions on how to join the session when you book. To participate, all you need is an internet connection, and a laptop, computer or phone with the ability to play video and audio. On android mobiles/tablets, sessions can be accessed via either Chrome for Android or Firefox for Android. Apple mobile/tablet users will need to download the CrowdCast app.
