Building of the month: Plas Nannau, Llanfachraeth

The SPAB have been alerted to concerns regarding the declining condition of Plas Nannau, a Grade II* listed hall, following years of neglect and the recent theft of the lead roof making the building vulnerable to water ingress. We are currently assisting the Snowdonia National Park Authority in their efforts to address the buildings condition. 

The hall is the ancestral seat of the Nannau family, and stands on a site once destroyed by Owain Glyndŵr, the last native-born Prince of Wales. The present Georgian house is dated to 1795 and incorporated part of a late 17th-century building in the south west corner. The hall is situated in its own park on a striking, elevated site.
