Yorkshire Group Fibrous Plaster Workshop

Thursday 1 August, 8am - 3.30pm.  

Join the SPAB Yorkshire Group for a Members-only workshop at K L Langton Decorative Plasterwork studios.  

Experienced plasterer Keith Langton will provide a hands-on introduction to fibrous and lime plasterwork and the processes that are involved in making beautiful decorative pieces.  

You will have the opportunity to have a go at making and fixing cornices, running techniques and casting decorative mouldings using traditional and modern reinforcement types and moulds. 

About K L Langton  

K L Langton is a West Yorkshire company specialising in the production and manufacture of handmade decorative plasterwork for internal and external use.

They have a team of experienced craftspeople, and their work includes repair or reproduction of existing plaster (gypsum) mouldings, plus the supply and installation of standard decorative items such as cornices, arches, ceiling roses, columns and pilasters.  

You will need 

You will need site safety boots. All other PPE required will be provided. 

A light lunch will be provided. Please indicate any dietary requirements on the booking page. 

How to get there

The address is  K L Langton Decorative Plasterwork Ltd, Unit 11 Quarry Hill Industrial Estate, Horbury Bridge WF4 5NF.

If travelling by train, the nearest station is Wakefield. Regular buses are available from Wakefield. 

If traveling by car, you can park at the industrial estate. 

Accessibility

There is no step-free access at the site. The event will include significant periods of standing and walking, sometimes on uneven surfaces.
