Edinburgh Doors Open Day 2018
Edinburgh Doors Open Day 2018
A chance to speak to SPAB members and 'have a go' at a craft demonstration
Event details
Saturday 29th September 11am - 4pm
Sunday 30th September 11am - 4pm
SPAB Scotland will once again be hosting craft demonstrations as part of Edinburgh Doors Open Day weekend. Come and speak to us, find out about what we do for building conservation, campaigining, and events in Scotland.
Our demonstrastion this year will focus on stonecarving, and we are lucky to have two SPAB William Morris Craft Fellows, Heather Griffith and Innes Drummond on hand to guide you through the skills of a stonemason. They will be giving short demonstrations throughout the day, and will oversee a small hands-on area where you can have a go yourself.
More information can be found about Doors Open Day on the Cockburn Association website.
The event is completely FREE and open to all. Places to try stone carving will be on a strictly 'first come first served basis' throughout the day.
About SPAB Scotland
Members of the SPAB living and working in Scotland decided to form their own semi-autonomous group in 1995. Scotland has its own building traditions, architectural language and property laws, all of which are best dealt with locally. All members of the SPAB residing in Scotland are automatically members of SPAB Scotland. Find out more here.
Accessibility: please contact the SPAB Scotland before the event to discuss any special access requirements.
