Event details
Saturday 16 July 2022, staring at 10.30 am
Holy Trinity, the ancient parish church in Godmanstone, is Grade I listed and includes Norman elements, as well as an inscribed Roman altar stone. Join SPAB Dorset in the church for a talk from Helen Brown about this wonderful building, Godmanstone village, and the Cerne Valley.
There will then be an interval for lunch before we reconvene for a walk around Cerne Abbas village.
You can either join Helen Brown at the Mill across from Church Lane for a vegetarian or meat pasty, and tea, coffee and biscuits with a tour of the water mill for £10 in aid of Godmanstone Church Roof. Prebooking is required, instructions will be included in the confirmation email when you register.
Alternatively, there is Feed the Soul in Godmanstone (a vegetarian café), and there are 3 pubs and a Tea Shop in Cerne Abbas. There is also a picnic spot at Kettle Bridge car park DT2 7GY, which is also a short walk along the River Cerne into the village.
For the afternoon guided walk please meet at 1300 in the garden at Cerne Abbas Church on the corner of Abbey Street.
Places are £5 per person (not including lunch). Please bring cash on the day. Pre-registering is essential, both for yourself and for any guests.
Multiple bookings
As long as there is space on the event, we usually allow you to book for both yourself and a guest. When completing the booking form, you will be asked to select the number of people and put in your own details on the first page, then to put in your second person's details on the next page. The event fee shown on each of these pages is for the individual person - you will be shown the total amount due once you get to the summary page.
