Event details
Fladbury Mill Open for National Mills Weekend
Saturday 10 – Sunday 11 May
Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, tours of the mill available, pre-booking is essential
Visit Fladbury Mill and Cropthorne Mill for a rare opportunity to explore two historic watermills standing opposite each other across the River Avon. Discover how Fladbury Mill harnesses a turbine to generate electricity, while Cropthorne Mill takes a different approach to managing the river’s challenges. This unique tour gives you the chance to visit both mills in one go, with Cropthorne Mill accessible only as part of the guided experience — a rare opportunity not typically available to the public.
Join a guided tour that includes a ferry ride between the two riverbanks, or enjoy a self-guided exploration of select areas of Fladbury Mill at your own pace.
This special visit to Cropthorne Mill is made possible thanks to the generosity of George Barrow, one of the mill’s owners, while Fladbury Mill came into the care of the SPAB through the legacy of David Wynn.
