Price: Until 31st August £45 per person (early booking discount). Full fee £60 per person. Price includes lunch and materials.
A practical one day hands-on workshop to learn and share experience of traditional and hot-mixed lime mortars and limewash for the repair and conservation of a variety of limestones, led by lime practitioner and conservator Nick Durnan and assisted by Geoff Gale.
Is hot-mixing a passing fad? Is the method here to stay? Does it have imaginary or real benefits? Come along and find out!
Every participant will have their own piece of limestone to work on during the practical sessions and take away with them.
Multiple bookings
As long as there is space on the event, we usually allow you to book for both yourself and a guest. When completing the booking form, you will be asked to select the number of people and put in your own details on the first page, then to put in your second person's details on the next page. The event fee shown on each of these pages is for the individual person - you will be shown the total amount due once you get to the summary page.
About the Somerset Regional Group
The Somerset Regional Group is run by Eve and Meriel who are conservation professionals working in the field and so the visits are organised on an ad hoc basis when we have a project on site worthy of a visit. We welcome everyone from the South West and are always keen to hear of interesting places to go and see. We love architectural history, traditional building materials, building repair techniques, conservation philosophy, craft skills visits and everything in between.
Accessibility: please contact the Group Organiser before booking to discuss any special access requirements.
