Thursday 23 May, 6.30 - 8pm
Join the London Group for a tour of the picturesque canals Little Venice with Roger Wilkinson, a volunteer with the Inland Waterways Association Towpath Walks Group.
Little Venice has attracted many actors, poets and performers over the years, inspiring Lord Byron to remark that “there would be nothing to make the canal of Venice more poetical than that of Paddington, were it not for its artificial adjuncts.” Pevsner also thought it “one of the most attractive Early Victorian tree and stucco landscapes of London.”
On our walk, we’ll take in the area, and some of the Grand Junction Canal and the Regent’s Canal, before finishing at an agreeable pub.
